More than 70 journalists nominated for 2021 National Journalism Awards

February 10, 2022:

More than 70 journalists have been announced as nominees for the 2021 National Journalism Awards in a historic nomination show on February 9, 2022.

The live announcement was the first in the history of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ).

The event was hosted at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St Andrew by Yendi Phillips and Joel Nomdarkham, and powered by Sagicor Jamaica, the major sponsor of this year’s awards show. It was also live streamed on Sagicor’s SAGE Network. Persons may watch the show here: https://youtu.be/r0ncFDrtgbs

The 2021 National Journalism Awards ceremony is being held later than usual because of disruptions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Winners will be announced at a virtual event on February 26, 2022. More details will follow.

PAJ President George Davis has thanked the sponsors without whom, he said, the awards show would not have been possible.

“Our journalists have been working hard and have done a tremendous job in covering their various beats. It is fitting that we continue to recognise them. We are very grateful to our many sponsors who are important partners in enabling us to highlight some of the best journalistic work for 2021,” Davis said..
