The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) says it is disappointed that veteran broadcast journalist Fae Ellington has found it necessary to resign as Interim Manager of News Talk 93 FM after only three days in the position.

Miss Ellington, the PAJ notes, is its first vice-president and spokesperson on professional ethics. The association says it is regrettable that with her wealth of experience in broadcast journalism, coupled with her expertise as a lecturer in media and communication, Miss Ellington had to depart News Talk 93 FM before effecting measures to halt the declining standards of some of the station’s journalistic output.

The PAJ is imploring the management of News Talk 93 FM -the University of the West Indies, which is the leading educational institution in the region- to take steps to ensure that its employees uphold the highest standards of journalism in the conduct of their duties.
