The WICB is pleased to announce that it has recently implemented a new and improved accreditation system. The new system will require legitimate media practitioners applying for accreditation to do so online.

Media practitioners covering the Caribbean Twenty20 2012 have already been accredited using the new system.

We are pleased to announce that media accreditation issued will be for the period 2012 – 2013 and will expire on December 31st 2013. The media accreditation will allow the holder general entry to any WICB hosted tournament, series, match, media conference or other media related event.

Media accreditation will also allow general access to the media centers and some stands at WICB hosted tournaments, series and matches. Media accreditation does not allow entry to WICB meetings, Players’ and Match officials’ areas, corporate boxes, the field of play, sponsors and other functions and Party and/or all inclusive stands.

Media accreditation holders found using their media accreditation to gain entry to restricted areas may have their accreditations revoked immediately and ejected.

Media accreditations remain the property of the WICB. The holder is responsible for its safekeeping at all times and must prominently display the accreditation with the WICB issued lanyard at all times at WICB tournaments, series, matches, media conferences or events.

Any accreditation which has to be replaced for any reason will incur a non-refundable charge of US$50.00 in the first instance and US$200.00 in the second instance. Accreditation will not be replaced on a third occasion except in extreme circumstances and entirely at the discretion of the WICB.

Importantly holders of media accreditations will not be automatically entitled to a seat in the media center or meals, drinks, snacks and refreshments at WICB hosted tournaments, series, matches or events. The designated WICB Media Manager will issue seating arrangements and meal tickets based on a predetermined priority listing.

For clarity, news agencies and national daily newspapers will receive priority seating and meal allocations in the media centers. A full priority listing will be distributed at a later date. Each priority media organization will have a quota of two journalists and one photographer who will be catered for at each event/match.

Any media organization wishing to increase its quota must apply for and negotiate same no later than 14 working days prior to the commencement of the event. Any such increase will be at the sole discretion of WICB. Email application to Corporate Communications Officer – Imran Khan at ikhan@windiescricket.com

Notwithstanding the foregoing the WICB bears no obligation in any way whatsoever to provide priority seating, meals, snacks and refreshments to any media practitioner.

The WICB will announce, prior to each series, tournament, match or event what the communications arrangements are. Media practitioners with requirements above and beyond the WICB arrangements are asked to make their own arrangements with a provider of their choice confirming to WICB regulations and with the prior written clearance and approval of the WICB (ikhan@windiescricket.com).

You will receive, at a later date, the full and detailed application instructions along with the full terms and conditions. Applications take 10 working days to process. WICB is obligated in no way to process late applications as a matter of priority or at all. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Each successful application submitted will receive an automatic confirmation email within one hour of applying.

All for your information and guidance.

Kind regards, Imran
